Howarth Student Oboes
The S20c oboe is an intermediate model designed for the keen student player. It is light in weight and has covered keys making it ideal for a younger student with smaller hands. The S20c oboe has a simplified conservatory system with semi-automatic octaves and a third octave key, easily meeting the needs of playing to a more advanced level. It has excellent tone and reliable tuning.
The S40c graduate oboe is designed for the more advanced player. It is a conservatory system oboe with more keywork mechanisms than the S20c, including features found on a professional oboe. The instrument remains light in weight compared to more advanced models, making it suitable for accomplished young musicians.
This is the first model in our series to feature vented plateau keys. These help to facilitate trills and are also used to extend the fingering options for notes in the higher register. The vented keys also help to give the instrument a more ‘open’ sound.
These oboes are supplied in a Howarth Academy case with matching cover, and come with accessories including cleaning materials, cork grease, reedcase and silver cloth.
